KC Community Choir

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here!

KC Community Choir is the result of years of teaching and a passion for helping people find true joy in singing.

How it all began…

We started in September 2019 with the single most important aim of finding true joy in singing together. Now in 2022, and having survived the global pandemic, the plan continues to be to nurture our growing choir and to open new branches. Throughout 2020 and 2021 we adapted and moved sessions online (check out our Facebook page here) and we finally started back in person in September 2021 – KC Choir 2.0!

Who are we?

KC Community Choir is open to absolutely everyone who wants to sing great music as part of a group. You don’t need to audition or read sheet music. It is a welcoming and relaxed environment to really enjoy the community singing experience. We laugh as much as we sing and truly sound so sweet when our voices come together. You do not need to be experienced or a confident singer – I promise I have all the tricks to make you sound beautiful and feel amazing!

COVID-19 Update

I have kept a keen eye on all the restrictions throughout the pandemic and I continue to do all that I can to ensure all members feel safe in rehearsals. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about what we’re doing to protect the safety of our singers.

Kate Cameron (Choir Director/ administrator/ social media manager/ accountant/ music geek)

Here’s a little (formal!) section about me and what has led to the creation and the joyful success of KC Choir so far.

I have been teaching music to all ages in the Glasgow area since 2011 and have been working with children’s choirs since 2014. I am very excited to be working with adults for KC Community Choir to create more of the same beautiful sounds I’ve nurtured with children beforehand. Music is my passion and I firmly believe it can and should be enjoyed by all.

Going forward…

The pandemic completely turned my life upside down. In order to continue creating and teaching (and earning!), I returned to a former skillset and started a second business teaching sensory music classes for babies (Heart and Music, East Kilbride) and also resumed 1-1 piano and vocal lessons for a very select clientele online.

I am passionate about music and passionate about teaching. I love nothing more than creating new arrangements of well-loved songs to make brilliant sounds with a group of voices. KC Community Choir is truly the result of years of hard work and I am delighted with the way in which it has survived and thrived during the pandemic. I cannot wait to see where it leads!
